BJJ is a challenging sport. Not a lot of people lasts very long in training. If you're committed to becoming the very best out there, we've got some great tips for you! Here's a good look at the mentality behind a long-lasting BJJ career.

1. Continue Learning

Keep in mind that no matter how good you are, there are still a lot of things to learn. It doesn't matter if you started yesterday, or if you've been in the game for years, you need to continue learning.

Be coachable, be open to learning at all times. Remember, you are still a student of the game. And as long as you continue to learn and absorb information, you'll always get better on the mat.

2. Take Care of Yourself

Keep your body well-nourished. Training for BJJ is always very intense. Your body needs enough nutrition and strength to keep up. More importantly, you need to make sure that you're mental well-being is taken care of, too.

3. Be a Good Partner on the Mat

When it comes to training, you need to be a great partner on the mat. Nobody wants to go train with someone who gives them a black eyes or broken nose. Think of yourself, but also think of your partner's wellbeing during trainings.

4. Be Grateful

Always appreciate how far you've come. BJJ is a long journey, and it usually takes years to be the best. Look back, and appreciate how far you've come.

5. Be Consistent

Just like with anything in life, consistency is the key to success. Get on the mats often and train. On the mat, you can't fake skills. You can't fake anything. So be consistent with training and find ways to improve.
